Alabama White Sauce Chicken

Ingredients

  • Whole chicken
  • 2 cups Mayonnaise
  • ½ tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Prepared horse radish
  • 2 tsp Yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbps sugar
  • Your favorite chicken rub
  • 2 tbs apple cider vinegar

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, add 2 cups of mayonnaise, ¼ cup of prepared horse radish, 2 spoons of yellow mustard, 2 spoons of apple cider vinegar, 2 spoons of the Mixture of black pepper, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder.
  2. Squeeze half a lemon and mix well. This is your Alabama white sauce.
  3. Sprinkle a good amount of your favorite chicken rub all over the chicken. Do get some of the rub underneath some skin too.
  4. Medium heat 300/325F cook chicken to internal temp of 165F
  5. Place chicken over indirect heat and close lid. After about 45 minutes, turn it around for some even cooking and baste the Alabama white sauce all over the chicken, close the lid.
  6. Let it cook for another 15 to 20 minutes. Remove and let it sit for 10 minutes.
