Buttermilk Spring Chicken

First marinade the chickens in a large bowl with the buttermilk for 30min ~ 1 hour
Into a large cast iron pan or baking tray slice the onions and form a bed for the chickens to sit on.
Slice the lemons in half and pack the cavity of each bird with half a lemon.
Pre heat your grill or oven to 400f
Place the marinated spring chickens onto the onion bed and roast until browned, taking them out towards the end of the cook ( about one hour of so) to brown the base that has been siting on the onions.
Once an internal; temp of 165 f has been reached they are done. Serve hot
