Honey Fried Chicken Thighs
Once you’ve tried these Fried Chicken Thighs, you’re going to be hooked, juicy tender and full of flavor, they’re sure to end up on your favorites list
For this Honey Fried Chicken Thighs recipe you’re going to need the following ingredients:
Red pepper flakes
SPG ( or your favorite seasoning)
Chili Peppers, use your favorite
To get the best results, as you would with fried Chicken drumsticks, these chicken thighs were cooked in two stages, it’s the best way to ensure they stay tender and juicy without over cooking the outside.
Remove the skin from the thighs, we used them later to make fried chicken skins.
add the skinless thighs to a bowl and ad the smoked paprika, salt, white pepper, corn starch and sesame oil and mix well, set aside for 1/2 an hour.
Heat up some oil in a deep pan.
Chop up the scallion into 2 inch size pieces and cut the thigh in half or thirds so they cook faster,
Add the chicken pieces to the hot oil and add in the scallion, chilis and garlic. At the half cooked stage remove from the oil and season, (we used our SPG), and rest them for a few minutes.
Be sure to remove the chilis, scallion and garlic from the oil at this time, if left in and start to burn they will affect the flavor of the next batch.
Once rested, place back in the oil to finish.
When done, remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain then place it all into a bowl and add the honey, some more chopped scallion, white pepper and the chili flakes and flip it around to mix it all in. ( we forgot to add the chili flakes in the video ! )
As with all Chicken, it’s cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165 f ( 74 C)
