Beef n Bacon 50/50 Burgers

It’s called the 50/50 Burger by some, but no matter what you call it, you’re talking about some good eating at the Pit. Watch how easy it is to make this kick-ass Cheeseburger with a few simple ingredients as shown here by the BBQ Pit Boys.

For this 50-50 Beef 'n Bacon Burger you need the following ingredients:

2lbs Bacon 2 lbs Ground Sirloin Beef SPG Seasoning Tomatoes Sweet Vidalia onion or purple salad onion Pickles. Provolone cheese or use you favorite cheese Bread Buns

Method:

Smoke the bacon until about 50% cooked or if you want , just use store bought smoked bacon. Dice the bacon finely and mix in well with the ground beef. Place the burgers seasoning side up on the grill opposite the hot coals , the grill temp should be in the 300-350 degrees Fahrenheit ( 150 - 175 c ). Place the lid on the grill and cook for few minutes until the burgers begin to tighten up, then flip them over and a little more seasoning to the top and cover. When the burgers reach close to an internal temp of 145 f, ( 63 C ), add some cheese on top and close the lid until the cheese has melted

Serving

Serve on a toasted bun with sliced tomato, onion and picked with ketchup and mayonnaise
